Welcome to Freefall! Tandem skydiving in Lake Taupo – the tandem skydiving mecca with more people choosing to jump here than anywhere else in New Zealand! Lake Taupo is the gateway to the Tongariro National Park home to the North Island's most active Volcano.
Your experience begins as you arrive here at the Drop-zone! Our courtesy van can pick you up from your accommodation in Taupo or if you have your own transport you can drive out to us. For directions - see our Location map.
No prior training is required as your fully qualified Tandem Instructor tells you all you need to know before you are securely harnessed and exit the plane together.
Once you have chosen your desired altitude of either 12,000 or 15,000 feet order one of our DVDs and capture your freefall experience allowing you to relive your skydiving adventure over and over again.
To experience the Ultimate HIGH! Jump from 15,000 feet where you can experience views stretching from the East to West coast of the North Island. Giving you over 1 minute of freefall - this is the adrenalin rush you have been waiting for!
After freefalling at 200km/ph your Tandem Instructor will pull your parachute at around 5,000 feet where you can enjoy the surreal experience your canopy ride will give you. After 5 minutes of taking in the breath taking views you will gently float back down to earth landing safely here at our Drop Zone!!
